Thoughts from Heart.....

Cali and Camille, ready for seminary to be over! Not me, I love it!

Here is Camille getting ready for Prom. My beauty Queen.

Princess PayPay.....so cute!

This photo does not do it justice, but this bumble bee was HUGE!!!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for my children to be home from school, of course give me a month and I'll want them back in school. We need a break, a vacation. We need to head back to the beach where it is warm and the wet, warm, sand is oozing through my toes. I'm tired of these gloomy cool days where we dont see the sun for weeks at a time. I new it was suppose to rain in May, but goodnight. Xanax where are you!?

It's not all gloomy days around here. The sun has actually peeked it's head out this beautiful sunday morning. I have been up since 5:30 listening to church music and reading over the days R. S. lesson. I am so greatful for this wonderful gospel that is in my life. I hope everyone has a wonderful day this Sabbath. I love you all....I miss you dad.

Jim catches...oops... I mean kill's his first buck!

This past fall Jim took part in an annual ritual that most men, boys, and even some women, here in the beautiful state of Missouri, get all fired up for. They spend almost the entire year rummaging through fields, and forests looking for that perfect spot to set up their tree stand, where they spend and entire day still, hidden in stealth mode. You can always spot this brood on the streeet because they wear their camo dickies and ride around in camo trucks toting their camo dressd infants. Quite and interesting bunch if you ask me. Anyway, this last year Jim caught the bug. He and a couple of his friends headed out to Nevada and spent almost 4 weekends to catch their alotted doe and buck. Jim was able to hunt a very old buck. The head was too small to mount, but he salvaged the antlers for a trophy. Shane has taken them to school to show off, "very cool", he says. Jim loves the outdoors and you can almost always find him planning a hunting or fishing trip.

Woman Aging
by
Carol Lynn Pearson
All her life she had been
A vegetable garden
Every inch rowed and planted
In corn, beans, carrots:
Producing
Nourishing
Doing.
Now some landscape architect
Has rearranges the space
Clearing, softening
Putting in a little pond
And a path and sand
Offering a quiet place
For being
For sitting on the one rock
And studying
The single lotus.
Pastel and thin
She is an Oriental meditation garden
Designed for going within.
Happy Birthday Kelly, I love you.

Congrads to Ash and Clay... a new baby to the family!

Early Sunday morning I got a phone call that Ash was "cramping". So I immediatly ran over to get Ash walking. Little did I know she had been "cramping since midnight.... and know she was having contractions every 1-2min apart. With the adivice of Becka, and my friend Cynthia..."GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL!!!" Mom and I drove her to the hospital and got her checked in. Clay, mom and Becka helped Ash with her breathing and tried to keep her calm. Camille was in awe of how incredible everything was, Megan and Heather not so much... I think they were a bit frightened. I stayed out in waiting room with them and watched the marathon of Ghost Hunters... yipee! Jimmy and Ash's bishop came and gave her a blessing and comfortered her. After several hours of labor, she was able to get an epidural, from our friend Justin :). She labored in comfort until the time came and Clay stepped out of the room and said "Its go time"! Mom and I ran in and ... I got kicked out, and not too shortly after that a baby was born. Apparently Payton came into the world just as the "Star Spangeld Banner" was being sung for the opening of the Super Bowl. Ash said she thought "oh brother" with tears running down her face. Clay and grandma were so proud and the nurses said they thought Clay and Ash were the sweetest couple they had ever seen.

So much has happened in the last couple of weeks. My dad came home for a visit from Kuwait. We had a fabulous Thanksgiving. So much delicious food. The kids put up Christmas. We had our first snow. Camille and I got very sick and so did Kelly and Becka. I hope you guys are feeling better. My nephew, Joshua, got baptized. Shane and Heather visited with Santa. Megan marched in the annual Carl Junction Christmas parade. Tomorow night we have our ward Christmas party. Jim is dressing up as a roman soldier, we are suppose to dress up like people in biblical times.... I don't know how I'll find time for that one. Camille's high school Christmas concert is this Sunday at 2pm in the Intermediate auditorium and Megan's Christmas concert is Tuesday at 7pm in the same place. Shew.... it just keeps going. The girls went Christmas caroling last night with their youth group. "It was soooo cold" they said. Next week we are focusing on the birth of Christ in seminary. One more week until a 2 week break. YAHOO! I get 6 days off during that time. My sister Kelly and her family are coming up for the holidays. I'm just so greatful and blessd in my life. Love you all.

Going All The Way With Twilight

Well, it finally arrived. Camille, Megan and I gathered with a few hundred Joplinites to watch the very first showing of Twilight at midnight November 21st. What fun we had. We went with other members of our ward. It was 25 degrees outside and we were shivering. The moms, were able to push our way through a tight crowd to get several movie posters. We felt like we were 16 again. The movie was just a wonderful as the book. Edward was just as handsome as described in the book, but had several facial deformities......lol to me he looked constipated when he was looking intense, I don't know, what do you think? lol We loved the movie so much we are going to see it again. I can't wait until it comes out on video. And yes, I stayed up to teach seminary and Camille and Megan went to school.

Camille's Fall Concert

This past Sunday, Camille had a Fall chior concert. I love going to see her perform. Camille's chior is very good and they sing such good music. This year they performed one of my favorite's "Down By the River to Pray". Many of you many know it from the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?". The entire chior lined the perimeter of the autotorium and sang. The accoustics where incredible. It sent shiveres up and down my spine...and yes, I cried. It was wonderful.

Fredrickson's Farms.....the pumpkin patch

I love this little patch hidden away in
in downtown Carl Junction.

Heather found two huge pumpkins.

Mums, a fall favorite of mine.

They found "the one".

Shane and Heather picking out their own pumpkins.

Jim thought this was an awesome gourd.
